Strawberry Quartz

Strawberry Quartz Chemical Composition: Strawberry Quartz is primarily composed of silicon dioxide (SiO2), just like other quartz varieties. However, its distinctive color is due to the presence of inclusions, mainly iron oxide (Fe2O3), which are responsible for the pink to reddish-pink hues. The inclusions can be small platelets of hematite, flakes of lepidolite, flakes of alurgite (a orangy red muscovite), crystals of piemontite, or other minerals that are pink to red in color. The visible inclusions contribute to the name of strawberry quartz because their appearance can be similar to strawberry seeds.
